Matt Friend to Host Varietys Power of Young Hollywood Celebration

Actor Maisy Stella and director Megan Park will receive the Breakthrough Award presented by Amazon MGM Studios

Variety’s 2024 Power of Young Hollywood party will unite Hollywood’s hottest emerging talent and industry influencers to celebrate Sabrina Carpenter, Marcello Hernández and Sadie Sink, who have been named this year’s Power of Young Hollywood honorees.  

Hosted by comedian Matt Friend, the exclusive celebration will also recognize the coveted Young Hollywood Impact list, which profiles the top young actors, musicians and creators working in the entertainment industry today.  

“I am so thrilled to be hosting Variety’s 2024 Power of Young Hollywood event! It’s amazing to see young people achieving so much, and I’m most looking forward to celebrating them all and the future of our business. I might have to sing a little ‘Espresso’ too ;),” says Friend.

'The Masked Singer' Season 12 Premiere Reveals Identity of Leaf Sheep: Here Is the Celebrity Under the Costume

At the event, Variety will bestow the Breakthrough Award presented by Amazon MGM Studios to actor Maisy Stella and director and writer Megan Park on behalf of the 2024 Sundance Film Festival fan favorite “My Old Ass” from Amazon MGM Studios. “My Old Ass” will open exclusively in select theaters September 13th, everywhere September 27th.

The cocktail party features a star-studded red carpet, followed by an awards presentation and party following. Each honoree will give a speech as they accept their awards.
