Casting director, producer Stone dies
Fox head of casting helped shape 'X Files'
Casting director and producer Randy Stone died Feb. 12 in Beverly Hills. He was 48.
Services for Stone will be held at Friday, Feb. 16 at 8:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn’s Old North Church, 6300 Forest Lawn Dr., Los Angeles.
Stone started his career as a child actor, appearing in shows such as “Charlie’s Angels.”
He won an Emmy for casting TV movie “The Incident,” and as head of casting at 20th Century Fox TV, he was responsible for shaping the “The X Files” and “Millennium.” His other casting assignments included “Say Anything,” “The Ryan White Story” and the TV version of “Shadow of a Doubt.”
He also developed and exec produced “Little Man Tate” with Jodie Foster and Dianne Wiest.
Stone won a short film Oscar producing the 1994 “Trevor,” about a young gay boy’s attempted suicide. Most recently, he produced the Lifetime film “A Little Thing Called Murder” starring Judy Davis.

Stone also co-founded The Trevor Project, which operates a hotline for gay and questioning teenagers.
He is survived by two sisters, a brother, his mother and his father.
